Throughout 2012 Brown Council (Frances Barrett, Kate Blackmore, Kelly Doley and Diana Smith) will develop and present 'Parties for People', a new site-specific experiential performance that will take place in the domestic space of a house. 'Parties for People' will be presented at Performance Space as part of their off-site ‘Halls for Hire’ program in October.
‘Parties for People’ is a celebration of loneliness. 'Parties for People’' explores how we all yearn for connection and intimacy, but ultimately, at the end of the night, we are all going home alone. ‘Party’ will tease out the moments of vulnerability, joy, anxiety, expectation and humiliation that we all experience at a party, and inevitably in life.
