Wade Marynowsky and his collaborators Aras Vaichas, Jeremy Althorp, Mirabelle Wouters and Sally Jackson will be in residence at the Dorothy Porter Studio developing their new interactive work, The Hosts: a Masquerade of Improvising Automatons. The project involves the creation of five larger than life sized networked and autonomous robots.
The first stage of development was presented at the Performance Space in 2009 where the robots were programmed to ‘avoid and wander’. The multidisciplinary team is eager to take the work to a new level, exploring the development of intercommunication between robots, a kind of robot choreography.
This is an innovative and significant project within contemporary Australian arts practice and we are excited to be able to provide space for its development.
