Late last year we commissioned research to assist us in understanding the history and role of Indigenous Australians on the Bundanon properties. Archeologists Sue Feary and Heather Moorecroft have completed a document which is based on direct site research and also takes account of existing literature and oral history. It tells a wonderful story of life on the river, with ongoing interaction between settlers and local Aboriginal people. There is little material evidence of Aboriginal people evident on the Bundanon sites but plenty of stories relating to the properties, including wonderful references to the powerful presence, a Dulagal, which inhabits Pulpit rock.
