Saturday 2, 9, 23 January 2010
Children’s art workshops will be held at Bundanon on three Saturdays during January when Bundanon opens the doors to its’ beautiful homestead and property. Art making activities will include painting, drawing, printmaking and sculpture.
The workshops have been designed to allow children to explore different aspects of the Bundanon property. All workshops will be led by the experienced education staff of Bundanon Trust. Parents are welcome to observe or explore the property and homestead.
Saturday 2 January
Session 1 Bundanon Panorama Scroll
Children will explore the Bundanon property, drawing images from the natural and man-made environment on a scroll. The artwork will be completed using aquarelle pencils and watercolour.
Session 2 Create a Creature Sculpture
Children will construct an imagined creature using banksias, pods and a range of other materials. They will learn how to use a simple armature and different construction and joining techniques.
Saturday 9 January
Session 1 Painting Pulpit Rock
Working on a canvas, children will respond to Pulpit Rock, the iconic rock feature seen in many of Arthur Boyd’s Shoalhaven landscapes. Viewing the rock from the grounds of the homestead, children develop acrylic painting skills with bushes and palette knives.
Session 2 Print magic
Inspired by found objects in the Bundanon grounds, children will create a series of prints using a variety of mono-printing techniques, exploring texture and form.

Children will explore the Bundanon property, drawing images from the natural and man-made environment on a Zig Zag Artist’s Book. Pen, pencils, watercolour and ink will be applied to their drawings. At the conclusion of the workshop, children will create a personalised cover for their book.
