Come and join the summer fun of children’s art workshops at Bundanon! Every Saturday in January when Bundanon opens the doors to it’s beautiful homestead and property, children will be captivated by the opportunity to explore this unique place through art making activities.
The workshops have been designed to allow children to explore different aspects of the Bundanon property. All workshops will be led by the experienced education staff of Bundanon Trust. Come to one or all.
Session 1 10.30am -12 noon
Session 2 1.30-3pm
All day workshops use both session times Workshops are suitable for ages 5 to 16. Children are fully supervised by Bundanon’s Education Staff. All materials are provided.
Session One
Workshop #1
Mono-print Magic
Explore a variety of mono-printing techniques and create artworks based on Bundanon’s magical environment. Children will assemble a folio of prints to take home and will enjoy this fun, experimental workshop conducted by our enthusiastic education staff.
Session Two
Workshop #2
Crazy Critters Sculpture
This workshop begins with a treasure hunt for found objects in the Bundanon grounds. Children will design a Crazy Critter through sketching and then apply a variety of construction techniques to create a sculpture with personality.

Workshop #3
Banksias and Beads
Discover how a banksia bush can be used to create jewellery and accessories. Children will tie, join, knot, thread and link to make their own jewellery from natural and man-made materials. This workshop will finish with a parade and exhibition for parents in the grounds of Bundanon Homestead.
Session Two
Workshop #4
River Journey Panorama
Guided by our experienced education staff, children will journey to the Shoalhaven River to paint a panoramic scene at the location that inspired Arthur Boyd to create his Shoalhaven works. Watercolour techniques, drawing and experimental mark making using plants will enable children to create their own panoramic masterpiece worth framing.

Environmental Sculpture
Exploring the intriguing Amphitheatre in Bundanon’s bush land, children will enjoy this active workshop in which participants create sculptures on site, made from natural materials collected at the location. Children will be encouraged to collaborate and discuss their ideas. Near the end of the workshop, parents will be invited to visit the location and hear the children present their ideas. They will take home digital images of their sculpture to remember the experience.
Session Two
Workshop #6
Paper Things, Wings and Strings
Paper - making is fun at the height of summer when the watery slop of the paper vat can be enjoyed. This workshop explores several paper–making techniques. Children will make paper sheets from recycled wood pulp paper and create butterfly wings using coloured paper pulp from kozo fibre and assemble their butterfly with strings and wax.

Children will take home digital images of their sculpture to remember the experience.

Please arrive at Bundanon at least 15 minutes before the workshop commences for registration
