Karli Munn

Art Forms: Fiction, Writing

Residency Year: 2014

Lives / Works: Australia

In November 2013 Munn interviewed young people who live with chronic mental illness and attend the Brain Mind Research Institute (BMRI). Audio recordings from these interviews vividly describe experiences or events of intense distress like hospitalisation, psychosis and mania and will provide the centrepiece for her performance installation. For this project Munn has officially partnered with BMRI.

During her residency at Bundanon in 2014, Munn worked on the development of her new work SICK, an audience interactive, live endurance performance installation based on Munn’s experiences of living with chronic mental illness and the documentation of interviews with other young people with the same experiences.
