Bundanon

Living Landscape, narrated by Jack Thompson

Caring for Bundanon is a major responsibility… Arthur Boyd had a vision for Bundanon to be shared with artists, school children and the Australian community, so that we can have an understanding of the importance of the landscape in all of our lives.

Living Landscape is a partnership between Landcare Australia, Bundanon Trust, Greening Australia, Southern Rivers CMA and SKM to increase biodiversity and reconnect native habitat in the Shoalhaven River catchment of NSW.

Launched in October 2012 by Hon Simon Crean, Minister for the Arts, Regional Australia, Regional Development and Local Government and featured ambassadors for the project, Jack Thompson (actor) and William Barton (indigenous musician).

The projects focus is the 1100ha of land on the Shoalhaven River uniquely gifted to the Australian people by the artist, Arthur Boyd and family.

Approximately 50,000 visitors, students and environmental volunteers annually participate in Bundanon programs and benefits will extend well beyond the property through community engagement and education.

Bundanon acknowledges the people of the Dharawal and Dhurga language groups as the traditional owners of the land within our boundaries, and recognises their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.

In Dharawal the word Bundanon means deep valley.
