This tree is also a parasite. The fruit is the enlarged stem above the seed and the juicy part of it is eaten. The wood of the tree was used to make spear throwers and, in Gippsland (Vic), bull roarers (a flat piece of wood whirled around on the end of a string). The sap was said to be a medicine for snakebite.
