OUT THERE WITH THE AUSTRALIAN BALLET 2010

The Australian Ballet program this year has been a great success. The program resulted in high participant numbers across primary schools and tertiary students.

  • • 354 primary school children participated in both the movement/dance and visual arts complementary workshops
  • • 420 younger primary school children, K-4, had a classroom visit and short workshop with two ensemble members
  • • 1170 school children, parents, aboriginal education officers, elders and teachers viewed the Talking Doing Dancers presentation and performance

A number of primary schools from the Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands participated, including Nowra East Public School, Jervis Bay School , Nowra Public School, Illaroo Road Public School, Bowral Public School, Glengarry Public School, Hill Top Public School, Bundanoon Public School, Sutton Forest Public School, Avoca Public School, Culburra Public School, and Nowra Anglican College.

50 University of Wollongong Grad. Dip Ed. students and lecturers completed a full day professional development workshop in kinetic literacy with education consultant Helen Cameron all at once in the Dorothy Porter Studio
