Phil Borchard is an ecologist who has a particular interest in wombats. Phil’s research started with field studies of wombats at Bundanon in the mid nineties. This led to a PhD project through the University of Sydney that focussed on the ecological impacts of wombats in riparian systems in Kangaroo Valley. In another recent study Phil investigated a range of wombat management strategies on a property on the Clyde River. This work showed how wombats can live and prosper alongside human activity. Phil continues his interest in all aspects of wombat ecology and management through several collaborative research projects.
