Safety and Risk Management

Bundanon Trust has a detailed and comprehensive Risk Management Policy for schools. This policy complies with and is based upon the NSW Department of Education and Training guidelines. School groups visiting Bundanon Trust are required to undergo a detailed briefing and safety induction at Bundanon and Riversdale upon arrival at each property. For each school visit, the Risk Management Policy needs to be downloaded, read by both the school Principal and the Designated Coordinator and the last page signed by both and sent to Bundanon Trust at least two weeks before the visit.

NEW AFTER HOURS EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

In the case of a medical or other emergency for Police, Fire or Ambulance please dial 000. Bundanon Trust’s Risk Management Policy recommends that all medical emergencies should be handled by calling 000 to obtain the services of an Ambulance. The response time for definitive medical help by Ambulance is approximately 25 minutes. Bundanon Trust does not recommend that visiting groups transport those needing emergency medical assistance themselves.

Bundanon has a back to base emergency monitoring system. In the case of other emergencies, the monitoring company, EPW Security will make contact with Bundanon Trust staff members who will attend the site.

Please note that due to legal requirements there is no vehicle available at Riversdale for the use of groups accommodated at the Boyd Education Centre. Groups wishing to have access to a vehicle should provide their own.
