Solar Hot Water for Bundanon

The ‘Bundanon Trust Gets Greener Hot Water’ project was granted $26,000 to supply and install four gas and electrically boosted evacuated solar hot water systems in the Artists in Residence Complex at Bundanon.

These new systems, funded by the NSW Government's Climate Change Funding Program, have replaced the four existing electrically heated ones in the cottages. They were installed in October 2011 and have been working well. Power savings as a result of this initiative will be monitored over the next year and are expected to be significant.

The project is part of our overall efforts to reduce our carbon footprint and become more sustainable across the entire organisation. In aid of this, Bundanon Trust is part of the Business Treading Lightly scheme, with all staff having completed sustainable workplace training and making efforts in daily work practices to reduce our impact on the planet.
