Tony Yap Company

Tony Yap Company (TYC) is an ensemble of culturally diverse independent artists. Each artist is accomplished in their individual field of artistic discipline and works to create a multi-modal form that is intrinsically international in its artistic language. The residency at Bundanon is first experimental stage of a new collaboration with Theatre Nottle, with the working title 'Kekkai', meaning sacred barrier or protective barrier in Sanskrit. The artists' early investigations will include boundaries and barriers between the two companies, between the art forms involved, as well as within the individual: sacred/profane, beautiful/grotesque, mundane/significant. Working at Bundanon will allow the two companies to deepen and extend their existing artistic relationship in a highly focused, inspiring and supportive environment.
