Viviane Rombaldi-Seppy

Viviane Rombaldi Seppey was born in Sion, Switzerland. She began her art practice in Australia where she obtained her BFA and completed her MFA in 2004 in Singapore. She is a polyvalent artist working in sculpture, painting and drawing. She had exhibitions in Australia, Singapore and New York. In 2008-09 she was recipient of the Lower East Side Printshop Key Holder Residency, in New York City. One of her project was installed, during the summer 2009, at The Carriage House, Islip Art Museum, Islip, New York. She is currently living and working in New York City.

Viviane’s practice relates to the idea of marks or traces, in both form and content. Using elements of her surrounds she make works on paper, paintings and installations that are a response to a location in a particular time frame. Ordinary places or objects such as, phonebooks, found objects, nature and more are the support to create works that question and define where and how we belong and what are the elements that characterize our identity.
