Weddings & Celebrations

The Arthur and Yvonne Boyd Education Centre is available for hire for weddings and other private functions. Riversdale is a unique and beautiful venue to hold a wedding or celebration with its breath-taking views and tranquil setting. The Venue hire includes exclusive access to the grounds of Riversdale and the Education Centre. The Education centre can seat an absolute maximum of 100 people, 80 guests can be seated comfortably. We recommend viewing the site prior to booking an event.

Set Up and Departure

Timing of the event is fully negotiable and should be discussed with the Bundanon Administration. In general, hire includes a six hour event, with a 2 hour set up and 2 hour clean up. For weekend events, we encourage set up to take place mid week if possible due to the availability of the Education Centre. Maximum access on the day is to be between 10.00am – 11.30pm.

A typical timetable for a Saturday Wedding

Set up either the Friday before if venue is free or Saturday morning, access from 10.00am.

Wedding commencement at 4.00pm if having ceremony at Riversdale, otherwise commencement of Reception at approximately 6.00pm, closing at 11.30pm.

All guests to be departed from the property by 12 Midnight.

Accommodation is available at additional cost, for guests wishing to stay, prior arrangement must be made. If the accommodation option is selected departure time on Sunday or the day after is no later than 10.00am.

Catering and Alcohol

Fully catered or self-catered options are available for all hires. A large kitchen with all facilities is available for use by groups and/or caterers. Clients must engage the services of a caterer who is known to Bundanon Trust unless prior arrangement is made with Bundanon Administration. Caterers are welcome to use the Education Centre kitchen and its facilities. We advise caterers who have not been to the property before to make an appointment to visit the venue before the event. Hirers should liaise directly with the caterers. Bundanon provides a list of preferred caterers who have a working knowledge of the Bundanon kitchen. Hire of the venue does not include the use of the kitchen’s cutlery, crockery and glassware.

Alcohol is to be provided by the hirer. There are 2 domestic fridges available in the kitchen for storage. For storage of additional food and drinks a space for a self hired mobile cool-room is available. Caterers who are serving alcohol must hold their RSA and are responsible for keeping the consumption of alcohol under control. Bundanon staff on-site for supervision also hold their RSA. A security guard is present at the venue for events which are serving alcohol. Patrons will be asked to leave if they are found to be causing a disturbance at the event or are too intoxicated.

Equipment Hire

Equipment hire of the venue includes the use of 15 trestle tables with white linen table cloths and 150 chairs if you choose not to provide your own. Linen and towels are provided in the accommodation wing if this is booked. Not included in the kitchen are cutlery, crockery and glassware. We can also provide clients with a data projector and projector screen and any extra extension cords required. A wooden lecturn is also available however sound equipment must be provided by the hirer. Bundanon does not provide staff to assist with deliveries from caterers and entertainment providers however are available on –site to take delivery of goods by arrangement.

Cost

The standard cost for a wedding is $3000.00 and $2000.00 for other celebrations. Costing is negotiable dependent on number of guests and the timing of event. Please request availability contact the Commercial Bookings officer for further details.
