On Tuesday 27 October 2009, the Hon. Peter Garrett AM MP, Minister for the Environment, Heritage and the Arts, spoke at the National Press Club in Canberra about the arts, to record the substantial and enduring contribution they have made to the life of our nation. Mr. Garrett also spoke about what he sees as "important challenges ahead", including his "ambition for the development of a national cultural policy".
