Merric Boyd (1888 – 1959) is recognised as being the father of Australian studio pottery.

An active ceramicist, painter and sculptor, he sketched continuously throughout his life, and devoted his later years purely to drawing producing thousands of works on paper.

This  publication contains a selection of 232 colour illustrations and 450 black and white illustrations showcasing Merric Boyd’s approach to drawing and reoccuring subject matter.
