The River and the Sea

The River and the Sea was compiled as part of Bundanon’s Parallel Landscapes exhibition season 2022.

The bright paintings of Reuben Ernest Brown demonstrate a love of the landscape and a natural eye for composition coupled with a wry sense of humour.

The paintings highlight connections between family, community and Country. They present an alternative interpretation to Arthur Boyd’s depictions of the same region at a similar time.
