Writer Christine Piper used her 2019 residency to work on a historical fiction novel titled ‘Undertow’. Undertow explores the civilian internment in Australia during World War II, focusing on the experience of Japanese civilians at the Loveday internment camps in South Australia.

Piper was also in residence at Bundanon in 2013.

Bundanon acknowledges the people of the Dharawal and Dhurga language groups as the traditional owners of the land within our boundaries, and recognises their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.

In Dharawal the word Bundanon means deep valley.
