Bundanon

Claire Scobie is an award-winning journalist and author of Last Seen in Lhasa, The Pagoda Tree, (a novel) and the memoir, A Baboon in the Bedroom, co-authored with her mother, Patricia Scobie.

IN RESIDENCE 2019

During her residency at Bundanon in 2019, Scobie worked on the final draft of her second novel about the first woman to circumnavigate the globe.

IN RESIDENCE 2016

Scobie was at Bundanon in 2016 working on her novel exploring the true story of Jeanne Baret, the first woman to circumnavigate the globe in 1766.

IN RESIDENCE 2015

During her residency in 2015, Scobie worked on her new novel, ‘Miss Jeanne’s Curiosity’ (working title), which represents a confluence of several ideas and themes – discovery, exploration and women with agency – which continue to engage her.
