Art Forms: Installation, Sculpture, Visual Art

Residency Year: 2017

Lives / Works: Australia

Kathy Holowko has a multi-disciplinary visual arts practice that has focused on public art installations, sculptural works and playful projects that often involve participatory experiences. Holowko is interested in the effects that modern urban life has upon our understanding of ecosystems and has explored these ideas within her projects. She has created connections between species, searched for evidence of the evolution of beauty, and responded to the wild urban animal in relationship to site.

Holowko used her Bundanon residency to begin research into a further episode of her video work ‘Synthesis’ with an Australian context, and to explore the visual possibilities of previous research.
