Take the trip

Bundanon is many things. An art museum embedded in the landscape. A wildlife sanctuary set on 1000 hectares. A gift to the Australian people. The vast array of experiences at this South Coast art destination means every visitor’s journey here will be different.

Getting Here

Bundanon is within easy reach for visitors from our nearest major cities, two and half hours’ drive from Sydney and Canberra. The property is located across two sites, the Art Museum site and the historic Homestead site, both within twenty minutes of each other. Bundanon is twenty minutes from Nowra, on the Shoalhaven River, and one hour from the Southern Highlands and Wollongong.

The final 3kms of road from Nowra winds its way through bushland, descending to the Shoalhaven River basin.

Please drive carefully.

Covid-19 Important Information

Bundanon is committed to prioritising the health and safety of our visitors, staff, volunteers and vulnerable community members.

Please read more about our COVID-19 Management Plan before you visit.

Kids and Family

Bundanon hosts an extraordinary range of wildlife. Visit early or late in the day to view wombats and kangaroos or challenge yourself to spotting as many animals as you can during the day.

Enjoy getting to know the Boyd family through the many family portraits and family tree, on display in the Homestead, and don’t miss seeing Arthur Boyd’s Studio.

Explore Bundanon through our Learning Resources.

Wildlife Refuge

Bundanon’s properties are registered wildlife refuges.

On 1,000 hectares, Bundanon  hosts a rich diversity of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and feral animals. We work closely with National Parks and Wildlife Services to protect and conserve the native plants and wildlife that live on our properties.

When visiting, please do not bring your domestic animals (pet dogs & cats etc.) onto our sites. This is for the safety of our native wildlife, as well as your pets.

Certified assistance animals accepted.

Accessibility

The new Bridge and Art Museum are wheelchair accessible. There are designated accessible parking spaces available outside the Bridge and Art Museum. Guide dogs and assistance animals are allowed on Bundanon properties.

Arthur Boyd’s Studio and the ground floor of the Homestead are wheelchair accessible. There is a staircase inside the Homestead and uneven ground in the visitor carpark and throughout the site. There is no opportunity to sit down within the Homestead or Studio as the furniture is original and fragile, however there is seating available inside the Homestead kitchen.

EV Charging Stations

Bundanon has four Gen 3 WC Tesla chargers on site, available to all visitors. These chargers provide up to 22kW.

The chargers are located directly behind the north end of The Bridge, near the turning circle drop-off zone outside the Art Museum.

Ramox Cafe

Bundanon’s new cafe, Ramox, features seasonal menus that champion locally sourced produce, with a paddock-to-plate ethos. Bundanon is proud to be partnering with local coffee roasters Daily Grind and Cupitts Estate to supply the highest quality beverages on site. The name Ramox pays homage to Arthur Boyd’s dramatic figurative paintings.

Walk ins accepted. Online reservations are currently closed.
