With a career spanning decades, Jones is known for his sophisticated sound, expressive phrasing, and deep affinity with the jazz tradition — all delivered with effortless style.

Vince Jones

Multi ARIA-Awarded Vince Jones, acclaimed vocalist, trumpeter and songwriter, is one of the most iconic voices in Australian music. For over five decades, Jones has carved out a singular space in the Australian musical landscape, blending cool jazz, soul and sophisticated song writing with a lyrical honestly that speaks straight to the heart.

From his breakthrough in the early eighties to creating the highest-selling Australian jazz album to date, Come in Spinner (ABC TV Series soundtrack), and performing at leading European and US festivals, Vince is recognised as one of the countries most influential artists for his trumpeting as much as his deeply expressive vocals. He doesn’t just interpret songs he inhabits them, and with 25 albums he continues to set the benchmark for Australian jazz with reviewers spellbound by his “effortless, sublime voice and command of his beloved trumpet” (The Australian) as a “musician who sings from his heart” (NME).

Born in Glasgow, Jones relocated to Australia at 11 years old with his family. He grew up in Wollongong listening to his horn-playing father and singing his mothers’ collection of great jazz albums. This early introduction to the feel, style and essence of music became a natural part of his world. Today, Jones continues to enjoy playing with some of the most elite musicians at the top of their game. His Quintet features long time Pianist and MD Matt McMahon, tenor sax John Mackey, double bassist Karl Dunnicliff, and drummer James Hauptmann.

The Vampires

2023 ARIA award winners, The Vampires have gained critical attention worldwide for their distinctive sound yet have a style that is undoubtedly their own. They have garnered praise from Downbeat, “phenomenal”, the Guardian UK, “seductive genre hopping creativity”, and All About Jazz, “gold all over”, and appeared at premier festivals throughout the UK, Europe and their homeland Australia. The Vampires are the first instrumental act to be short-listed for the Australian Music Prize and are some of the most in-demand and awarded musicians of their generation.

The band has released seven critically acclaimed albums including the ARIA-nominated The Vampires Meet Lionel Loueke. Their 2019 release, Pacifica, saw them return to the classic chord-less quartet format for a celebration of the band’s 10 years of performing together, evident in their deep, long-standing musical kinship. The album was an evolution of the band’s sound, leaning further into recording production. The band followed this with a successful European tour in 2019, including a sold-out performance at the Enjoy Jazz Festival.

Their latest release Nightjar, brings a fresh perspective on their music in a collaboration with pianist and keyboard player Chris Abrahams.
