Bundanon

Art Month

To mark the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the gifting of the Bundanon properties by Arthur Boyd to the Australian people, Bundanon Trust is hosting a pop-up exhibition and public talk under the umbrella of Art Month Sydney.

This exhibition of 20 artworks by Arthur Boyd will highlight the 20 years of conservation work that has been undertaken to stabilise and preserve the collection by Bundanon Trusts’ long serving conservators David Stein and Tony Ameneiro. The exhibition will feature works recently conserved and some in the progress of conservation, alongside images and notes outlining their treatment – a fascinating look behind the scenes of the usually hidden process of caring for a collection.

Saturday’s FREE public talk will unravel some of the typical challenges of caring for artworks and reveal some of the specialised techniques of the trade as mastered by these two leading conservators. For lovers of Arthur Boyd’s work, this talk will include some fantastic anecdotes about his techniques and themes and will provide an insight into the rhythms and charm of daily life for the Boyd’s as they split their year between Bundanon and their property in rural England.
