One of Australia’s most significant 20th century artists, Boyd’s prolific career is marked by his expressive painting style, depicting emotive allegories and the Australian bush. In this engaging talk, hear about both Arthur Boyd: Tapestries, the NGA’s new exhibition of 20 monumental tapestries exploring the life of Saint Francis, and Man on Fire: Visions of NebuchadnezzarBundanon’s new exhibition featuring Boyd’s renowned series depicting the biblical story of King Nebuchadnezzar.

Dr Nick Mitzevich is the Director of the National Gallery of Australia, a position he has held since July 2018. Nick is passionate about sharing the national collection with the broader Australian audience through increased offsite programs and online learning. 

Mitzevich led galleries in three states before becoming the Director of the National Gallery. The Art Gallery of South Australia, University of Queensland Art Museum in Brisbane and Newcastle Art Gallery, NSW. Nick is a passionate advocate for arts and culture in Australia and will continue to use his ambition and energy to enhance the way Australians interact with their cultural institutions and in turn amplify the voice of Australian artists across the county. 

Rachel Kent, Bundanon CEO, is an experienced arts leader, art historian and curator with extensive experience working with international museums and cultural institutions. Prior to joining Bundanon, Rachel was Chief Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia. Rachel is an outstanding advocate for contemporary and First Nations art, nationally and internationally, as well as being highly effective at building philanthropic and government support for the arts.
