Workshop

7, 8, 10, 11 July Multiple Sessions
Book

Learn from acclaimed Kalaw Lago Ya and Meriam Mir artist Janet Fieldhouse. In this fun, hands-on two-hour ceramics workshop, participants aged 12+ are invited to connect with Indigenous excellence through making and storytelling.

This program is made possible through the support of the Oranges & Sardines Foundation. Carers and parents of children under 16 years will need to be present throughout the workshop.

Janet Fieldhouse creates handbuilt ceramic works that draw on her matrilineal Meriam Mir (Torres Strait) heritage, as well as European and First Peoples’ pottery practices from the Pacific and Americas. Her works are an expression of culture, seeking to fulfill the functional and spiritual needs of the Meriam Mir people, and referencing family, traditional life, storytelling and the natural world.
