Arriving just days ahead of her national tour, Nadia Reid comes to the South Coast for her first and only solo show, sharing new songs from her recently recorded album.
Fresh from a UK tour with Gordi, Ruby Gill also takes to the stage with new material from her latest album Fishing is not fishing.
“[Reid] embraces a full-bodied sound halfway between Haim’s sophisticated pop sparkle and Sharon Van Etten’s full-throated songcraft” – The Guardian
“Gill’s delivery switches from sweet-sounding to cracking with raw emotion on a dime” – Beat
Live at Ramox showcases intimate performances by acclaimed artists and emerging talent. The series transforms the Ramox Café forecourt into a relaxed setting for an afternoon of music.
Nadia Reid, acclaimed songwriter, journeys back to New Zealand and Australia this December in celebration of Enter Now Brightness; her critically lauded fourth album. The Manchester-based expatriate New Zealander is known for her ruminative and well-crafted folk-inflected songwriting, and with Enter Now Brightness she presents a record of poise and great beauty, the sound of a cellular shift, of pain giving way to tenderness and joy.
Ruby Mary Gill is a South Africa-born, Australia-based musician and poet whose “lyrical wizardry” has earned her the reputation of unmissable. A two-time nominee for the Australian Music Prize, and recent winner of Best Country Album at the Australian Independent Records Awards, Ruby’s ARIA-charting, globally renowned sophomore record Some Kind Of Control has made a name for her own genre of roguely spiritual, strange novella alt-folk. She writes with unparalleled specificity, catchy prose and deadpan wit.
