Amy Walsh, from Dublin, Ireland, will carry out a similar project to that which she did in Tilting Newfoundland. Amy attaches her camera to a kite to photograph the landscape from the air. She will document the land around the area of Bundanon and Shoalhaven from the air using this technique.
The aerial perspective in these images places the viewer into the position of an imaginary observer. This perspective offers both micro- and macroscopic viewpoints and reveals structures, markings and patterns made by man within the landscape that tell a story about the relationship between the residents of the land and the land which they inhabit. This work is both of anthropological and ethnographic significance as photographing and documenting the landscape in this manner reveals structures and relationships between man and the landscape not visible from the ground.
