Bundanon

The Monteverdi/Beecher Project

Art Form: Performance

Residency Year: 2016

The Monteverdi/Beecher project (working title) is a collaboration investigating new ways to present baroque opera live and online through multi-disciplinary performance. The artists involved in the project were Marshall McGuire, Patrick Nolan, Ben Quilty, Anna Tregloan, Kylie McRae and Ludovico’s Band.

During the Bundanon residency in June 2016, they explored and experimented with presentation of a double bill featuring Monteverdi’s Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorina and Lembit Beecher’s I have no stories to tell you (2014).

The project seeks to create a stimulating, compelling production investigating war and the effects on those it touches, embracing the old and the new through a multi-disciplinary production with online presentation.
