Residency Year: 2020

Lives / Works: Australia

Daniel Blinkhorn is an Australian composer and new media artist who works extensively with environmental sound, biomimetics and electroacousttics. He has worked in a variety of creative, academic, research and teaching contexts, and is currently lecturer in composition and music technology at the Conservatorium of Music, University of Sydney.

Blinkhorn and Daryl Pratt used their shared residency in 2020 to work on a body of work about how they, as artists can uncover some of the time-tested patterns and innovations developed by nature as a basis for compositional models. This was largely based on location-based field recordings within Bundanon and the surrounds.
