Olivia Adams is a proud Wulli Wulli dancer and choreographer from and based in Magandjin (Brisbane).

As a choreographer Olivia premiered her first full length work, Matriarchs, as a part of Metro Art’s new festival DANCE24 and created TAWNY for Karul Project’s The Walking Track at Bleach Festival. As a dancer she as performed in Joel Bray’s Garabari, Sidi Larbi’s Manifest for Perth Festival, Keia McGrady’s Lutruwita tour of Charcoal, Karul Project’s SILENCE national tour, Michele Rizzo’s Coalescing Towards for Perth Festival, Richard Bell’s Tent Embassy in Documenta15 and been a guest dancer with Australiasian Dance Collective. Olivia is proud to work in and on works that champion First Nations voices and stories and is passionate about the practice of healing and storytelling through dance.

 

In Residence at Bundanon

While in residence Olivia plans to work on her short outdoor work TAWNY. Inspired by Adams’ Totem the Tawny Frogmouth and originally performed on the Dunes on Burleigh Beach. Olivia will spend time with TAWNY and investigate how it can work in other locations and how it interacts with the lush landscape of Bundanon.

Olivia will also continue seeding some other early stage works/ explore how her practice intersects with current topics of interest – Country, protest, idolism, cultural appropriation and class divide.
