Bundanon

In 2015 Bundanon looked at the feral amongst us: the thing that does not belong. How do we decide what is ‘natural’ and what is out of place?

There were feral talks, feral walks and feral interventions by artists across the site.

Afternoon talks unpacked the various meanings of ‘feral’. What is the effect of alien species on a habitat? When does an alien become natural? What do you do when an endangered species become dependent on a major weed? How should we humans coexist with animals and plants? Are humans the most feral animal of them all?

Bundanon acknowledges the people of the Dharawal and Dhurga language groups as the traditional owners of the land within our boundaries, and recognises their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.

In Dharawal the word Bundanon means deep valley.

This website contains names, images and voices of deceased Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
