Bundanon

Teachers Viewing Copy

Bundanon invites local teachers and educators an opportunity to be among the first to view the opening exhibition From impulse to action. Registrants will be joined by Curator Sophie O’Brien and the Bundanon Learning team to tour the new facilities and learn more about Bundanon’s new programs.

From impulse to action takes Arthur Boyd’s drawing practice as its starting point, generating a series of commissions by artists from diverse disciplines. These new works respond to the dynamic, generative spirit embodied in Boyd’s practice of ‘thinking through drawing’, a methodology he returned to throughout his working life. A spontaneous way of working, it captured that initial moment of discovery at the start of any creative process.

The afternoon will include:

  • Introduction to exhibition From impulse to action with Sophie O’Brien, Head of Curatorial & Learning
  • Walk through Bundanon’s Collection Store
  • 30 minute activity taster GalaxyInspired by Skye Saxon’s layering and mark making techniques and her exploration of creating cosmic universes, participants experiment with mark-making and layering techniques using a range of media
  • Conversation about future programming with Bundanon’s Learning team

Afternoon tea will be provided.

Bundanon is a learning landscape for all ages. Programs are inspired by the exhibitions, Collection, First Nations culture and connection to Country, the changing resident artists, and the natural and built environments. Day and residential programs are available. Check our website for details and how to book.
