Bundanon

Sensitively embracing the existing landscape and its ecology, the Bridge is a 160-metre-long by 9-metre-wide structure that spans the space of a gully. Designed to respond to current and future climatic conditions, Kerstin Thompson drew inspiration from rural Australia’s trestle flood bridges.

On select weekends throughout the year visitors to Bundanon have the opportunity to stay the night on the Bridge and experience Kerstin Thompson’s architecture for themselves.

Spend your afternoon connecting with Bundanon’s natural landscape, with a choice of either an ecological bushwalk or artmaking workshop.

Wander Bundanon’s protected landscape with an ecologist-guided bushwalk and learn about its unique natural features. Unwind with a guided artmaking workshop and explore your own personal responses to the Bundanon landscape through mark making and the use of  natural materials found on-site.

Step through time with a visit to the historic Homestead and enjoy a window into the Boyds’ life at Bundanon. With displays from the Bundanon Collection, sculpture gardens and Arthur Boyd’s artist studio preserved as it was during his time there, there’s always new stories to discover at the Homestead. 

Executive Chef Douglas Innes-Will oversees all catering at Bundanon and the Ramox Café, bringing his local eye and longstanding knowledge of South Coast produce.

Douglas works with local purveyors to source sustainable ingredients for signature dishes and to ensure quality produce is sourced from the surrounding Shoalhaven region.

Join a local instructor for a morning Vinyasa Flow class. Designed to sustain concentration and build awareness in the body, this class welcomes all bodies and levels of ability.

A subterranean Art Museum sits at the heart of the new Bundanon. Sensitively embracing the existing landscape and its ecology, the design responds to current and future climatic conditions.

The Art Museum has a changing seasonal exhibition program. Currently on display is Miwatj Yolŋu – Sunrise People.
