The Bridge

The Bridge

Sensitively embracing the existing landscape and its ecology, the Bridge is a 160-metre-long by 9-metre-wide structure that spans the space of a gully. Designed to respond to current and future climatic conditions, Kerstin Thompson drew inspiration from rural Australia’s trestle flood bridges.

On select weekends throughout the year visitors to Bundanon have the opportunity to stay the night on the Bridge and experience Kerstin Thompson’s architecture for themselves.

Afternoon activities

Spend your afternoon connecting with Bundanon’s natural landscape, with a choice of either an ecological bushwalk or artmaking workshop.

Wander Bundanon’s protected landscape with an ecologist-guided bushwalk and learn about its unique natural features. Unwind with a guided artmaking workshop and explore your own personal responses to the Bundanon landscape through mark making and the use of  natural materials found on-site.

Discover this creative haven, once the beloved home of one of Australia’s most celebrated painters

The historic Homestead

Step through time with a visit to the historic Homestead and enjoy a window into the Boyds’ life at Bundanon. With displays from the Bundanon Collection, sculpture gardens and Arthur Boyd’s artist studio preserved as it was during his time there, there’s always new stories to discover at the Homestead. 

Fine Dining

As twilight approaches, enjoy a drink with your fellow guests, followed by an indulgent three-course dinner by Executive Chef Douglas Innes-Will, complimented with local beverages

Executive Chef Douglas Innes-Will

Executive Chef Douglas Innes-Will oversees all catering at Bundanon and the Ramox Café, bringing his local eye and longstanding knowledge of South Coast produce.

Douglas works with local purveyors to source sustainable ingredients for signature dishes and to ensure quality produce is sourced from the surrounding Shoalhaven region.

Morning Yoga

In the morning, there’s the opportunity to join a rejuvenating yoga class overlooking the Shoalhaven River as the sun rises, followed by a relaxed continental breakfast

Vinyasa yoga

Join a local instructor for a morning Vinyasa Flow class. Designed to sustain concentration and build awareness in the body, this class welcomes all bodies and levels of ability.

Tour of the Art Museum

Your curated experience will conclude with an insightful tour of the current exhibition in the Art Museum, before a late check out at 12pm

The Art Museum

subterranean Art Museum sits at the heart of the new Bundanon. Sensitively embracing the existing landscape and its ecology, the design responds to current and future climatic conditions.

The Art Museum has a changing seasonal exhibition program. Currently on display is Miwatj Yolŋu – Sunrise People.

Day 1

Check in from 11am 
12pm: Light lunch  
1-2pm: Bundanon Built tour 
2:30pm: Drive to the Homestead for one of two activities:

  • Guided ecology bushwalk or landscape drawing workshop  

4:30-5pm: Homestead visit
5.30-6pm: Pre-dinner drinks served with an amuse-bouche  
6-8pm: Three-course dinner (set menu), with drinks  

 

Day 2

7am: Yoga 
8-9.30am: Continental breakfast  
10.30-11.30am: Art Museum exhibition tour  
12pm: Check out

WHAT TO PACK

Towels, bedding and body wash are provided in your room, but please bring anything else you might need including: 

  • Other toiletries: shampoo, conditioner and toothpaste 
  • Yoga mat 
  • Warm clothes, a hat and sunscreen 
  • Insect repellent
  • Sturdy shoes, if you wish to explore the property 
  • Water bottle 
  • For light-sensitive sleepers: some light does enter the room, so bring an eye mask 
  • Hair dryer/shower cap, if you need one 
  • A good book: there are no TVs at Bundanon, so bring things to do during any downtime 
  • Art-making materials such as charcoal and a sketchbook

One person: $900

Pricing includes GST.
Your stay at Bundanon enables two children from local primary schools to participate in a day learning program at Bundanon.
