John Bennett

John Bennett is a Sydney based writer. He addresses contemporary issues in his poetry, focusing on making his writing accessible for people who rarely encounter this artform.

While in residence, Bennett plans to work on a suite of poems investigating and exploring the natural and cultural layers of the Shoalhaven Catchment area.

John has recently won the inaugural David Harold Tribe Poetry Award for Kitchen Music a poem written at Bundanon for fellow Bundanon artist in residence, William Barton. John will be accepting his award at the Nicholson Museum on Thursday 30 October, 2008.
