William Barton
Aria award winning and internationally acclaimed musician William Barton will be working with the Bundanon Trust and the local Shoalhaven community to celebrate NAIDOC week 2013.
William will be working on the Bundanon Trust program TRANSMIT, a layered performance which fuses traditional and contemporary art forms. William will work with local high school students to compose three didgeridoo/guitar pieces which will then form a key component of a collaborative artistic process with NAISDA dancers and performance artist Candy Royalle.
Born in Mount Isa, far north western Queensland, William has been playing the didgeridoo for over 20 years. He has worked with traditional dance groups and fusion/rock jazz bands, orchestras, string quartets and mixed ensembles. William has been touring internationally since the age of 15 and has played for the Queen Sofia of Spain, Beijing 2008 Olympics Opening Ceremony, Berlin Philharmonic and the City of London.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Bundanon Trust Artist in Residence program is open to professional artists and groups, from all disciplines. The program supports artists’ new work, research and collaborations.
