Elwyn Murray's practice explores the ideas of identity, memory, gender and representation in physical and online contexts. His practice ranges from coloured marker on paper, etching on glass, perspex and mirror, to site specific interactive installations.
Murray was formally trained as a graphic designer, and his work reflects his belief that art is 'as much about experience of an image as it is about the image itself'. The subject matter of his works draw inspiration from the everyday self-documentation ubiquitous to social media platforms, as well as combative political riots, queer erotica and classic sculptural poses. Murray attempts to examine how representation is constructed through a lens of masculine stereotypes and gender-roles.

F.A.Q.'s - residencies
The Bundanon Trust Artist in Residence program is open to professional artists and groups, from all disciplines. The program supports artists’ new work, research and collaborations. Australian and international artists are hosted in purpose-built studios located at the Bundanon properties on the Shoalhaven River in NSW. As a gift to the Australian people, Arthur Boyd’s vision for Bundanon was to provide an inspirational haven for artists to pursue their practice.
Bundanon offers accommodation and studio space for up to five more..
