About Bry the Fly Guy

Dr Bryan Lessard, better known as Bry the Fly Guy, is an award-winning entomologist, science communicator and author of the kid’s book Eyes on Flies. Like many, Bry grew up thinking that flies were annoying, until he discovered the fascinating world of flies at university. There he learned that maggots could help solve crime. Most importantly, without flies there would be no chocolate! Bry has named 50 species new to science, including the Beyoncé and RuPaul flies proving that flies can be fierce and beautiful. Bry is passionate about sharing his love of mini-beasts with the world in the hopes of inspiring the next generation of nature-lovers. Bry’s work is regularly featured on the ABC and has buzzed onto the BBC, CNN, Totally Wild, Ologies and the Graham Norton Show, just to name a few.
