Bundanon

Alex Falkiner

Residency Year: 2013

Alex Falkiner is a Sydney-based maker and visual artist whose work blurs the boundaries between craft and art, incorporating textiles, paper, painting and stitching. I particularly love her hand coloured and embroidered textile pieces which you can glimpse in the image below. Using traditional textile techniques Falkiner transforms everyday and often throwaway materials into covetable objects.

Falkiner was in residence at Bundanon in 2013. For Siteworks 2013, Falkiner presented ‘We Are Stardust’, childrens activities involving the construction of lanterns and string-based installations.
