Bundanon

Ashleigh Wilson

Art Forms: Non-fiction, Writing

Residency Year: 2014

Lives / Works: Australia

Ashleigh Wilson signed a contract with Text Publishing in 2013 to write a biography of Brett Whiteley, who died at the age of 53 in 1992. The biography has the support of the Whiteley estate, and is intended to be the definitive account of Brett’s life.

Even before the Boyds bought Bundanon, this property was one that Brett and Wendy Whiteley loved to visit. It seemed fitting, then, for Wilson to be given the opportunity to spend time here as he continues to piece together the details of Brett’s extraordinary life. The book ‘Brett Whiteley: Art, Life and the Other Thing’ was published in August 2016.
