Deanna Hitti is an Australian artist based in Melbourne, with a Lebanese heritage. Much of her practice concerns the nuanced relationship between Eastern and Western cultures. She investigates historical and contemporary representations of Middle Eastern people, with a particular focus on 19th Century French Orientalist painters. Central to her arts practice are various methods of printmaking creating prints and artists books.

Deanna Hitti used her residency to develop and create her ongoing series of artists’ books.

Bundanon acknowledges the people of the Dharawal and Dhurga language groups as the traditional owners of the land within our boundaries, and recognises their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.

In Dharawal the word Bundanon means deep valley.
