Helena Pastor is a writer of memoir and fiction. Through her work she aims to influence the way people think and feel about topics including troubled youth, pregnancy and birth choices, the hardship of war, and growing up in an immigrant family.

IN RESIDENCE 2018

At Bundanon in 2018, Pastor worked on a draft of ‘Yahtzee and the Art of Happiness’ – a memoir about pregnancy and birth choices. The work was later published in the Griffith Review. While in residence, she also developed a new work exploring the complexities of mother-daughter relationships.

Pastor was also in residence at Bundanon in 2015, 2013 and 2012.

Bundanon acknowledges the people of the Dharawal and Dhurga language groups as the traditional owners of the land within our boundaries, and recognises their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.

In Dharawal the word Bundanon means deep valley.
