Ira Hadzic

Art Form: Music/Sound

Residency Year: 2026

Lives / Works: Berlin, Germany

Ira Hadžić, born in Sarajevo, is a Berlin-based sound artist with a background in cultural anthropology.

Her practice unfolds at the intersections of improvisation, composition, and introspection. Working with gongs, radiophonic forms, field recordings, resonance, minimal sonic gestures, and silence itself, she explores sound as a site of presence and perception. Her projects have been produced by broadcasters such as Deutschlandfunk Kultur and Südwestrundfunk, and presented at festivals including Heroines of Sound.

In Residence at Bundanon

During the residency, I will engage in listening as a form of art. Guided by both natural and human soundscapes, the work will unfold through recording, movement, and body-based practices. This process-driven exploration will culminate in an audio composition shaped by attentive interaction with space and place.
