Residency Year: 2017

Lives / Works: Sydney, Australia

Julie Vulcan is an interdisciplinary artist. Her work explores many forms with a focus on performance and installation; text and digital media and is well known for her durational performances. Her work investigates transience, transference and constructed histories and seeks to question the motivations behind how we remember, record and rewrite our actions, bodies and traces – past, present and future.

During her residency, Vulcan designed and constructed installation pieces and continued working on a fictional text for her ongoing project WishingDARK.
