Kantarama Gahigiri is a Rwandan and Swiss award-winning screenwriter and film director. Gahigiri was Bundanon’s 2019 African Artist-in-Residence facilitated through the Africa Centre.

During her month-long residency at Bundanon, Gahigiri worked to bring significant changes to the first draft of her feature film project, ‘Tanzanite’, a neo-noir dystopian thriller, with a female main character, tackling themes such as justice, repair, independence and safety

Bundanon acknowledges the Wodi Wodi and the Yuin, of the South Coast region, and recognises their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.

In Dharawal the word Bundanon means deep valley.
