Kirli Saunders is a proud Gunai woman with ties to the Yuin, Gundungurra, Gadigal and Biripi people. She is the Manager of Poetic Learning and Aboriginal Cultural Liaison at Red Room Poetry.

IN RESIDENCE 2018

Gunai poet Kirli Saunders was in residence at Bundanon in 2018 for Red Room Poetry to deliver ‘Poetry in First Languages (PIFL)’, which celebrates, shares and preserves knowledge of First Nations languages and culture through poetry, music and art.

IN RESIDENCE 2017

Saunders was in residence at Bundanon for the 2017 Eucalyptus Eco-Poetry Project (EEPP) in partnership with The Red Room Company.

Bundanon acknowledges the people of the Dharawal and Dhurga language groups as the traditional owners of the land within our boundaries, and recognises their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.

In Dharawal the word Bundanon means deep valley.
