Lives / Works: Sydney, Australia

Mimi Kelly is a photomedia artist and writer currently completing a PhD by research. Her practice and writing engages with anxieties provoked by, and agency evoked through, the female body as a converged site of the highly aesthetic and that which is somehow other to it – from the uncanny to the grotesque. Her research area focuses on body politics at the intersection of queer theory and third-wave feminism, fashion theory, and theories of the grotesque and perversion.

Kelly was in residence at Bundanon in 2014, 2013 and 2012.
