Art Form: Music/Sound

Residency Year: 2026

Lives / Works: Verona, Italy

Passepartout Duo’s work investigates the way in which we listen to and connect with sound.

Reassessing the tools they use to create their music, the group is continually developing a specialized and evolving ecosystem of handmade musical instruments that have ranged from analog electronic circuits and conventional percussion, to room-size textile installations and found objects.

In Residence at Bundanon

We will be focusing on the editing on previously recorded interviews and new sound material into a new longform audio work. The piece builds on interviews with miners collected during our first trip to Tasmania in May 2025. We will be shaping the format of the final presentation, particularly focusing on the emotional and sensory relationships that the mine workers recall from their memory and lived experiences.
