Sarah Johnson is the Curator, Newcastle Art Gallery. Holding this position since 2012, Johnson manages a collection of over 6700 works of art including Australian painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, Japanese and Australian ceramics dating from the colonial to contemporary. At Newcastle Art Gallery Sarah has curated over 40 exhibitions, with newly commissioned works of art and from state, regional and Newcastle’s esteemed collection.

Johnson was in residence at Bundanon in 2020.
