Stephen McGrath won the prestigious The Age Short Story Award in 2009 for his short story, “A parachute landing in Siberia,” he was also runner up in the same competition in 2011 for his short story, “The yellow chair.” He has won several other National story awards. In 2023 he published his first novel “Jimmy Sharman’s Boxers” which is a fictional retelling of true events and the life of Jimmy Sharman during World War One.

He grew up in New Zealand before moving to Melbourne where he works in community planning and lives with his wife and 2 children.

In residence at Bundanon

I will work on my second novel… The Architect of Clouds.
