Bundanon acknowledges the people of the Dharawal and Dhurga language groups as the traditional owners of the land within our boundaries, and recognises their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.
In Dharawal the word Bundanon means deep valley.

European Occupation
From the mid 19th century, the Shoalhaven River supported many farm properties and provided a mechanism for European occupants to bring their produce to the coast for sale. The families living along the river near Bundanon were closely associated socially, and often by marriage.
